Hi all, new to EBR but I’m looking for some help with my new Trek Allant + 8S. I picked up the bike on 4/24 and I’ve been having some serious battery issues. A few times during riding, I’ll get the error code 606 on my Cobi screen and the bike will completely turn off. After a few seconds (10-15) I’ll try to turn it back on and it’s functional. I told the LBS what was happening and I dropped it off to them. They ran diagnostics and opened up service tickets with both Trek and Bosch... Read more ..read more

I am considering a 2023 PowerFly 4 Gen 4 Hardtail. Will be riding mostly on rail trails and greenways - a variety of surfaces including some major potholes - along with some straighforward trails in the woods. Member thoughts/feedback on this bike appreciated ..read more

Rail Motor Mount Bolts

Surely I'm not the only one with this issue. I developed a creaking noise on my 2020 Rail 9.7. Long story short I finally dropped the motor and found one of the bolts holding the motor mounting bracket in place had broken off and the other bolts were loose. After removing the broken bolt realized they do not have any locktite on them. I searched all over for information on these bolts and couldn't find any. Called Trek and they don't have any information on the either. I figured it out on my... Read more ..read more

Has anyone tested this bike? From the specs, it's everything the Gazelle Ultimate C380 should be in 2023. Not available in the US market apparently. Features: Enviolo Automatiq shifting Air fork with 60 mm travel Seatpost suspension standard (shorter rides like my wife could benefit from this since) 60 mm super moto tires 6 piston 180 mm brakes front and rear... 8000 miles in about 1 1/2 years on my allant 8. several chains and two sets of brake pads and a set of needed a cassette a month ago a new chainring a few months ago . Did have a cracked back rim replaced on warranty at 6000 miles. but I bought a new set of wheels so I have narrower rims so I dont need the clunky stock tires. went tubeless and the rides far better and much faster then stock tires. going to replace the shifter housing before winter and putting in sealed headset bearings as... Trek 8s with Smartphone Hub and Cobi app

For the past 3 months using the Cobi app with the Smartphone Hub has left me very unsatisfied. After owning Giant e-bikes and Specialized, I think Trek and Bosch missed the boat when it comes to this display. First of all, when I get on my bike and go for a ride, I should NOT have to add a phone to see the following basic information: Speed Distance Elapsed Time Max Speed Odometer Cadence Range Battery percentage I should also be able to turn the lights on or off, without having to head to... Domane+ motor assist button help please

Sorry I am new to this bike, but I'm wondering 2 things about the motor assist buttons. 1. Has anyone experimented with an alternate placement relative to factory? They sit pretty far recessed, to the lip of the hoods. So, I really have to roll/side my thumb base far to hit the button. I was thinking of trimming the rubber on the hood or cutting a slot so that the buttons would slide up closer to my thumbs. Anyone done this? 2. I don't suppose there is a hack to change the off motor... Read more ..read more

I purchased my Trek FX2+ e-bike in Australia May 2023. I am 69 & usually ride with a group of mostly older riders with an increasing uptake of e-bikes. Our rides are mostly 30-60 kms with occasional hills and some rare bad ones. I initially looked down a little on e-bikes thinking you wouldn’t get much exercise however my mindset changed after I went on a multi day cycling holiday in the central west of NSW doing many kms each day. We were all on e-bikes - however much heavier ones than the... Read more ..read more

Allant+ 7S Recall: Headlight bracket, Headlight Cable, Brake Lines

I just found out this afternoon some vague information about a Trek recall. I told my LBS technician that my brake lines are being pulled and the headlight cable is kinked. He told me that he had just received a bulletin on this yesterday (Sept. 18, 2023) and that he would be happy to take care of this when I bring my bike to the shop. Evidently the headlight bracket is interfering with the brake lines and the headlight cable to cause this recall. Has anyone received notification of this... Read more ..read more

New Trek owner: range extender, second battery, or extra powertube?

Hi all, New owner of a Trek+ 4s low step here! If I understand things correctly, I have three official options if I want to increase the range for long rides: 1. The Range Boost battery; 2. The TQ HOR Range Extender; 3. A spare Powertube 500. Is that correct? If so, then I’d love to hear opinions about going with #3 rather than #1 or 2. Advantages of #1 and 2 are that they attach to the bike, which minimizes risk of loss or damage. But I find the Range Boost battery to be very unsightly... Read more ..read more
