February was not the best month of reading for me. In fact, it was probably the worst of my life. There are two reasons this. While video games are not a main focus of the Book Club Belles Blog, I realized during my play through that open world RPG games, like Hogwarts Legacy, can be just as enjoyable to experience for book lovers. I fully believe that readers will love Hogwarts Legacy. Why I Played Hogwarts Legacy I am n ..read more

Last month, the Book Club Belles gathered for our February meeting to discuss Jordyn Taylor’s debut novel, The Paper Girls of Paris. This historical young adult fiction offers a dual timeline between present day and Nazi-occupied Paris. Though the book was a short, fast read for all of us, we found not shortage in discussion points Adalyn’s tale of joining the resistance, and Alice’s venture to resolve an incriminating photo of Adalyn’s connection to the Nazis. Paper Girls of Paris by Jordyn Taylor Synopsis Sixteen-year old Alice is spending her summer in Paris thanks to her Grandma who left ..read more

While exploring my local library, I stumbled across Other People’s Things by Kerry Anne King. Not only did the cover intrigue me, but so did the synopsis. The main character is compelled by some cosmic for to simply move items from one location to another. Other People’s Things explores the life-altering impacts this gift (or curse) has on the main character’s and other people’s lives. This time, the item begging to be relocated is a book. Here is our Other People’s Things review. Other People’s Things can fulfill the prompt “A book that features a book as a central piece of the plot” in the B ..read more
