Looking at getting one of these. My brother has a Ring doorbell in the US and keeps bugging me to get one as I work in our loft and everytime DPD or someone else turns up with a delivery, I have to charge down three flights of stairs to answer the door before they drive off.
Unfortunately, I've gone to all three vendors, and even though they show some EU countries, you cannot enter an address at checkout for Portugal. Ring told me they don't support Portugal.
Ideally if I am going to get a video doorbell, I want one where I have a system I can add security cameras and other extensions to. Bu ..read more

I see IVA has been increased to 23% from April this year, to offset any actual cost reduction later on I guess
I am with EDP and current costs, for simple tariff is €0.3544/day for 6.9Kw potencia and €0.1943kwH, both excluding IVA
Anyone else give comparison costs with others ..read more

Hi all,
In Portugal with my beloved car since a week ago, drove through France & Spain to get here. Have some work that has come up in UK and want to park the Car securely and fly back. Is there any rule that says I can't leave without taking the car with me?.. I ask, as this is the way in certain non EU countries and I've never had to do this before in the EU. But, my registration wasn't marked on my passport although my entrance to EU does have a Vehicle Stamp, rather than an Airplane stamp.
Just making sure I'm not breaking any laws by leaving the car here for a week or 2.
Thanks in a ..read more

Your input if you have actual experience on this will be appreciated.
TLDR: application timeframe and information required for the PT permanent resident card.
We applied and received the "Certificado de Registo De Cidadao da Uniao Europeia" in late 2019 which we replaced as part of the Withdrawal Agreement with "Titulo de Residencia" (the biometric card) in 2022. After residing in Portugal for 5 years, we now look to apply for the Portugal permanent resident card later on this year.
The issues we have are:
1) what support documents are needed.
2) when can we apply (that is, how many days be ..read more

Your advice please. We have sold our car to a neighbour. He has taken out the transponder but we got charged when he used the toll road. Because he is an elderly gentleman he prefers to go to the post office and pay the toll charges if and when he uses the motorway. However this causes a problem because the charges are deducted of our bank account automatically. Question is how do we stop these charges? The car is now in his name. Do we have to return the transponder and if so where to or do we just tell our bank to stop paying ..read more

I have been in PT for a week. I have an Irish passport so I know getting a residence certificate should be easy, but I still haven't figured it out exactly. I am not old enough to be retired, nor will I be working or looking for work in PT. As far as I can figure I would effectively be retired since I won't be working, and this means needing proof I can support myself (which can apparently be anything so I can just show them a bank statement or something), as well as 'medical insurance', which I do not have. I understand the EHIC would cover it but I haven't been able to figure that one out ei ..read more
