I remember a high school friend. Cliff Haynes and I were buddies in high school(65-67). We used to hang out at the local pool and try different dives off a three meter board. I was wondering how many of you where exposed to the burn pits like I was and are having liver issues? I was in Balad and lived in that crap and now my AST and ALT is high and I rarely drink and don't smoke so I not sure what is going on. My diet is good and no greasy stuff or fast food and while I could lose some more weight I am not that much overweight. The VA said I will be seeing a liver doctor soon and may even get a second opinion out of the VA ..read more

Do you recall your best or worst Thanksgiving while serving? Best was at Camp Hovey Korea 1996, 1-9 Inf 2ID. IIRC we spent $36K 3 months of funds on two days of feasting. Worst was in Iraq FOB Gator/Barbarian/Ashraf 2005, 1-124 Cav (and what ever half dozen Units we fell under). Barely had a shack to eat in, and every day was chicken ..read more

Happy Veterans Day. When I joined the Army we still used M1911’s as sidearms, as the M9 was not fully implemented into Infantry Units. Retired in 2012. In 2017 the M17 Sig was as the new sidearm, and is slowly replacing the M9’s. Made this video for those not familiar with it, or for those that want to see it taken apart/put together.
