This Summer saw me visit Alyson and her skewbald thoroughbred gelding, Freddie, for a portrait photoshoot near Windsor. Alyson stables Freddie very close by to the beautiful Dorney Court which we were lucky enough to be able to use in the backdrop for some of our images! This shoot was a busy but very enjoyable one, primarily focused on Ashley and her four beautiful event horses; Zebedee, Max, Kato and Erol. We all know that behind every successful eventer and their string of horses is a strong team, so also included in the shoot was Ashley's Mum, Dad, Husband & Labrador. We started the shoot with Ashley and her top horse, Zebedee IX, who she competes at 4* level. On a Summer afternoon in Sussex we had a wonderful equine portrait photoshoot with Stacey and her gelding, Sammy. The lane into the yard where Stacey keeps Sammy is lined with beautiful black older style street lamps and trees, so this was naturally the best place to start! We paired this location with Stacey's long white dress from her selection of outfits and did a combination of posed and natural interaction images at the first location. In April 2022 I met with Nicola Magill, Heathfield Agricultural Show Secretary, to discuss the local agricultural show and the areas that I would be photographing for the show's social media and website. For me, my "heart horse" has to be Guinness, he was the most recent horse I owned and sadly we had to sell him when I was 18. Guinness is the sort of horse I never, ever thought I would be lucky enough to own.
