I use the device for safety but I feel like when the device is near my laptop, phone, smart watch etc... it gives false strange readings. While when measuring away from them, my results are almost always perfect, the only anomalies are if I'm stressed measuring submitted by /u/justme22e [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Husband in afib after ablation

Hi everyone, My husband had his ablation almost 2 weeks ago now. He is still taking all his meds (eliquis, flecanide, and metoprolol) as directed. He seems to be going into afib at least a few times a day, and usually when he is standing. Prior to the ablation (while on meds only) he was not having any episodes at all. Is this normal? I’m not sure what to think or how to help him and he’s pretty discouraged after going through the surgery and having this happen. I don’t know if this will improve or not. I will say he was doing some yard work at the beginning of the week. Not sure if that is c ..read more

Breathwork during an AFIB episode

I have paraxysmal (irregular) vagal AFIB and I'm trying to figure out ways to cope with the episodes when they happen. I've tried things like valsava manoeuvre, cold water shower, walking etc but they all don't work for me. During an episode, I tend to get anxiety and it makes the situation even worse. But lately I find that if I breath shallowly in a steady rhythm, it helps slow down my heart rate and sometimes even almost pushes my heart back to sinus. On the other hand, when I do a deep breath during an episode, my AFIB will ramp up with a vengeance. Does anyone have a similar experience ..read more

Hey guys ? sorry for the long explanation but wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge on the symptoms I’m having. I’m 24, don’t drink / smoke and try my best to be healthy. This past 8 months I’ve been having various episodes of completely out of the blue heart palpitations which last no more than 5 minutes. This happens with a variety of other symptoms ( I’ve had chronic dypnea ever since the first episode where I fainted at work ) but can always tell when an episode is going to happen now as I have the same feeling which radiates in my stomach and chest before the palpitations c ..read more

Leg Varicose veins and AFib

I understand the veins and arteries In the legs especially calves have a relationship with the heart. Could it be too much sitting or standing causes varicose veins which affects blood flow to/from heart and then the heart tries to compensate by pumping faster? If you have AFib do you also have varicose veins in your legs? Have you had a sedentary lifestyle with a lot of sitting and standing? submitted by /u/Illustrious_Ship_331 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Bad posture causing AFib

Has anyone thought. AFib could be caused by poor posture / slouching? I am thinking some nerves or blood flow gets affected and causes the heart to compensate? My mother is 72 going on 73 and has had AFib since 55 or so. She was an office worker dlr most of her life and has not the best posture. She eats healthy overall, doesn’t exercise much (perhaps another cause?) Meds do not seem to work and has has paroxysmal AFib despite having it long term. It self resolves after a few days even with no treatment. She takes a blood thinner though. submitted by /u/Illustrious_Ship_331 [visit reddit] [c ..read more
