Surfing Jaguar forums I just learned that there is a German made manual transmission that bolts directly to Jaguar S-Type 2.7 liter diesel which means it also bolts directly to the 4.0/4.2 Jag AJ-V8. Would that mean it works on the Ford 3.9 it’s the Tbird? Its the ZF S6-53 which is available in Europe and the UK. Although it would cost $$$ to get one to the US , sure would be neat to put one in a Tbird. Clutch and flywheel would have to be figured out along with ecm mods but I have to say... Ford Thunderbird Forum

I read online that the average or standard brake pedal height for a 59 TBird is about 5 1/2 inches. My brake pedal height is about 3 3/4 inches. Is there a way to increase my brake pedal height because my pedal travel is 3 1/2 inches (which is within specifications) leaving me only 1/2 an inch from the floorboard? I do not feel confident that if I needed to apply the brakes hard and quick that I wouldn't bottom out before I could stop ..read more

This is the Harness which has the Black and Brown wires and routes and mounts behind the Plenum, it it connects thermostatic control switch, blower motor, and down to the fan switch at the console. and I believe it goes to the ignition switch. You have to remove the Plenum to access this harness, which is secured to the firewall. Any sources would be very appreciated. Thx Doug ..read more

2004 Thunderbird Coil pack question.
Ford Thunderbird Forum

I purchased our Retro Bird in 2021 with about 21,000 miles on it. It now has about 25,000 miles. Not issue and runs just fine. After reading all the stuff about coil pack problems, I thought it might be prudent to order a spare set of 8 as well as plugs just incase they act up. Here's what found on the internet: RockAuto has NGK 48652 coils for $22.79, or $182.32 for all 8 plus shipping. Amazon has ENA branded, set of 8 for $42.99 plus shipping. Ebay has set of 8 NGK for $204.64 with... Read more ..read more
