Need some assistance on these 2 small brackets. I am replacing the damaged firewall terminal box, and on the interior firewall I found these two 1" x 1" brackets held on with the two upper box mounting screws. The right side did have a wire running through it but was just hanging there not attached to anything in the dash. I'm assuming it is the wire to power the windshield wiper motor ..read more

Adjusting valve lash --- Why is my existing lash way below spec? So I decided to check my valve lash as car is new to me last September. Not particularly noisey, but wanted to make sure lash was at .019 as per spec. What I find is that almost all valve lash is below spec, some less than .015. How can this be? Parts should wear and my lash should exceed the spec if any adjustment is needed. The seller told me the short block had been rebuilt less than 5,000 ..read more
