There is a large central open cubby below the dash in my 1968 Fiat 500L.
My vehicle has an ashtray, but no cigarette lighter receptacle.
A decision was made to add a dual USB surface mount receptacle in the top center of that dash cubby, to permit maintaining the charge in my iPhone and in my Bluetooth speaker, during extended vehicle operation.
The device I selected has one USB Type A receptacle and one USB-C receptacle, both covered by a spring loaded sliding door.
This was...

My 1968 Fiat 500L arrived w/ one set of keys.
From the patina and wear, these appeared to be original to the vehicle. There is one for the dashboard ignition switch, one that works in either door exterior pushbutton lock and one that works in the exterior rear engine lid pushbutton lock.
My hope / plan / preference is to have additional sets of fully functional keys, in case something happens to the original / only set, or for other purposes.
As all members know, the blanks for...

Most of you will have followed my journey working on a 500R I bought last year. It has a 594cc 126.A5 engine with a 28IMB carburettor. I bought this version deliberately so that it would have a little more go than a 499cc car, but everything I've done so far has drawn a blank. The car has a top speed of 60 MPH as measured by GPS.
The fan is solid and blows air well. The air intake tinware is clear and in good condition. The air filter was new less than a year ago and has about 500...

Hi All, new on here and have a 71' 500f with a 650 engine.
Interested to know if anyone here has a 126 synchronised gearbox with a 9/39 final drive and how they get on with it?
Is it worth the 9/39 over the 8/39 final drive or is the standard 126 gearbox just a better bet?
Cheers, Keith ..read more

Hello all, I purchased a 1971 Fiat 500L on the opposite side of the country (United States) and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get it home. I had an east coast road trip planned (where the car is located) prior to buying it so I'm trying to figure out what my best course of action is. I can ship or trailer the car back with me, or for what I believe will be a significant cost savings, and way more fun, I could attempt to drive it back home.
Per google maps my route, avoiding...

Hello everyone,
Hope you are all well!
We are new to the forum and we are so excited we have found it.
We are in the process of buying our first ever Fiat 500 F!!
We are going to take her around Europe for a big travel while we tow her on a trailer at the back of our RV.
We've got a question. How much does it actually weigh? We can see from the spec the the kerb weight is 523kg, but we spoke to a mechanic and he said that when you start putting oil and water in it, it all adds up...

Hi All
Nice to meet you all. I joined a little while back but as I am now onto my second 500, I thought it was time to say hello.
Below is a photo of my latest 500 which is a 595 recreation (based on a RHD 500L), a car which I believe used to belong to an owner on here?
Prior to this, I had a silver 500 R which has just gone to a new home.
My passion for 500s started some 15 years ago when my late uncle and I drove his 595 recreation to central Italy from...
