I'm considering taking my 1968 Mustang with me to Chicago and storing it outdoors. I have a two concerns: rust and theft. Here are my thoughts on how to prevent the two:
Rust: My car has rust around the lower rear windshield and floor panels, and I have done my best to prevent this from spreading. I plan to store the car outdoors under a waterproof/weather-protecting cover. Do you think a cover is enough to prevent water from building up and accelerating the rust?

How do I find the history of a 1977 Dodge van? Interested in how many owners had it before me and what miles were put on it assuming it rolled over. Also how are the seats in mint condition if the steering wheel is not? Even if the seats had covers on them there should be cracking/flattening where people got in and of it?
