Hi, I'm a German planning to make a long-term trip through the USA in 2020. I would like to do that in a classic car since I want to do it in style. However, I would like to make sure to choose the right car for this adventure. For this reason, I would appreciate some expert advice in order to discuss what has to be considered. To give you an idea: I want to spend 6-9 months crisscrossing the country, which means I'm looking for a reliable car not giving me too much trouble for maybe 25.000 miles. As to make and model - I'm very open there though I would prefer a classic with an 8 cylinder eng ..read more

Hey guys, Having an old Ford Fairlane '67 as my daily driver for the past two years has given me a lot of trouble that I would not experience in a modern car (love too for that matter :)) In order to minimize these these not-so-fun breakdowns I want to make a smart wireless sensor system for older cars. The goal is to enable older vehicles to be able to provide the same amount of data as a modern car such as a Tesla. It will have features such as: - Theft aid (tracking in a similar sense as ‘Find my iphone’) - Oil-condition sensors (tracks PPM in engine, transmission, differential) - An array ..read more

While researching the story of the Killinger and Friend 'Friedenstaube' FWD motorcycle I saw this photo. The remains of the motorcycle are visible in the foreground. But what is the car in the background? The photo may have been taken after 1968, based on other detailed photos of the motorcycle I found elsewhere. And the car probably looks older than the period (Art Deco) its shape is resembling. A one-off, a show room teaser? It sort of looks familiar (Chrysler design study?) but I cannot wrap my head around it, did not find any related pictures with Google's reverse search method. Who knows ..read more
