Misanthropik Torment – Murder Is My Remedy
Metal Revolution
by Bato

Even for someone who has been reviewing music since 2001, Murder Is My Remedy feels old as it was released more than three years ago. I’m not sure why this CD was sent to me that long after its release, but it will not prevent me from writing a few words about it. For those of you still unfamiliar with this band; from Lexington, Kentucky (USA) comes a blackened death metal horde named Misanthropik Torment. According to band’s website ‘Misanthropik Torment’s sole purpose is to stand against tyranny and advocate for the execution of all terrorists, alongside of rapists and pedophiles! We Must Ki ..read more

Dominion of Suffering/Phobonoid – Dominion of Suffering/Phobonoid
Metal Revolution

Dominion of Suffering (Slovakia) and Phobonoid (Italy) are two acts taking a part on this Split release by Necroeucharist Productions. It’s always a great pleasure listening to vinyl releases, but this time it’s an extra pleasure since the musical content here is pretty good as well. Dominion of Suffering/Phobonoid split is a limited edition of 150 pieces, on black vinyl with gatefold. Since there’s no much place to write about detailed history of both bands, I’ll directly focus on what’s the most important thing here, a short presentation of both bands and obviously – the music itself. Horns – Oświecenie
Metal Revolution

Horns is a Polish black metal quartet founded in 2014 in Zielona Góra. Recently, the band released their long-awaited third studio album titled Oświecenie (eng. Enlightenment). Current line-up of the band contains of Hesgal (vocals), M. (drums), H. (bas) & Z. (guitar). Oświecenie consists of seven tracks, all recorded in 2023. My initial impressions of this material is to call it occult, blasphemous, marble, devillish, captivating and feral black metal. The album opens with “Twoja kara wieczność trwa” (Your punishment lasts forever), suitable as a nice quite and clear introduction to the w ..read more

Dool – The Shape of Fluidity
Metal Revolution
by Zoran

Coming out just as the pandemic basically snoozed the world, Dool were unlucky with their previous album Summerland. Well unlucky because they had their absolute career highlight on their hands and one of the strongest albums of 2020 and promoting it was suddenly almost compromised, to put it mildly. On the other hand, with such an eminent album out there, the universal critical acclaim was inevitable and that was the best promotion the band could wish for. In a given situation, anyway. Summerland possessed that quality of sheer, well, quality, but there was also a commercial excellence to it ..read more

In Vain – Solemn
Metal Revolution
by Zoran

The Norwegian band hit the absolute bullseye with their third album Ænigma in 2013 and since then they have released only one more album. 2018 Currents was a really good record, but it never matched the brilliance and intensity of its predecessor. Six years down the road from it In Vain is finally ready with the follow-up. Jens Borgen once again makes sure that the layered grandiose sound is seamlessly balanced. The density of the sound never feels busy, but rather rich and even cinematic. There is power and finesse to the rich sound of this album that truly does impress. Musically the band ha ..read more

Hulder – Verses In Oath
Metal Revolution
by Brian

Hulder manages to tick off most of the points I seem to have been talking about for years now about what makes a truly great band. It is a solo act (meaning that there is no compromise in regard to artistic vision), a clear concept has been formed from the beginning and is being refined more and more as time goes on (this particular band was formed six years ago and has so far amassed an impressive discography in that time consisting of three Demos, six Singles, two EPs and now two Full-lengths) and, perhaps most important of all – Said musician is not only qualified with each of the instrumen ..read more

Jours Pâles – Dissolution
Metal Revolution

Jours Pâles is a French Black Metal duo, one that I have had the pleasure of following since their inception back in 2019; At the time known as Asphodèle, a Post-Black Metal act – The next year they took the name of their first and only release, Jours Pâles, and made it their new moniker while shifting to a more consistent Black Metal sound.  Over the last five years, the number of members as well as whom these particular members were has varied considerably with the only consistent member throughout being Spellbound – The main vocalist, lyricist and current keyboard player. I seem to rec ..read more

My Dying Bride – A Mortal Binding
Metal Revolution
by Zoran
1w ago
British Doom Metal legends released their previous album The Ghost of Orion just days before pandemic paralyzed the world in 2020. It was an important album for the band, because it came out after five years of not releasing new music, the longest period between two albums in band’s almost three-decade long career. The album was also important, because it was their first album not to be released by Peaceville Records. At the same time that Nuclear Blast debut was also an album that boldly explored more approachable side of My Dying Bride’s musical spectra. It goes without saying that the pande ..read more
