Since this is my first pellet grill I have nothing to compare it to, but so far it has made some delicious food. The electronics and app make it so easy. I still love my Smokey Mountain and Kettle but this makes cooking Smokey and tasty food during a busy week so easy. Clean up after about 6 cooks took about 10 minutes of just scraping the sides down to the tray and emptying the almost empty firebox. I did notice the heavy duty heat diffuser that sits on top of firebox does collect some ash...

Been a couple of months since making regular ribs, usually do baby back loin ribs. I did a mustard base and seasoned with garlic, chili powder, smoked paprika and fresh ground black pepper. I'm going to smoke them at 250F until done, no wrap, no spray ..read more

So just saw an ad on FBM. Person selling a Pitts and Spitts and including a "Fireboard". I think I have heard that term before but don't know what it is. Is it an add on controller, or is it the full controller ..read more

At the risk of pissing off a bunch of folks here, I'm going to call this Weber pellet grill fiasco for what it is...thus far, an unmitigated disaster from the premier name in outdoor cooking. Of course their customer service is responsive sending parts and covering up what they hope to.... because the premier name in outdoor cooking failed miserably at their entry into a major BBQ market.
Personally, I would no sooner buy a Weber pellet grill than fly to the moon at this point... value for...

Hello,
I have been in the market for a new pellet grill and the Weber Searwood was my primary candidate. That was , until I noticed that the cart only has 2 wheels. I am 65 + 20 and I can probably lug it around. The wife would not be able to. Is it possible to mod this cart to a four wheel unit? Does anyone furnish kits to perform this? Thank you ..read more

I heard about the new Starwood and checked it out at my local dealer - the 600 Xl. But, I noticed they had the ELX6 Stealth for $200 less and it looks like twice the grill. It had a light, 4 casters, two side tables, and the crafted insert and griddle. Also, the upper rack is 14” deep on the ELX6 vs 10” on the 600 Xl.
I’m not an expert on pellet grills but heard they did have issues with the original Smokefire. Any reason not to pick the ELX6 over the 600XL?
Thanks ..read more

I am doing a pork shoulder tomorrow but I bought a 2 pack of the boneless ones. I tried the boneless version once before but found they did not work that well because of the large "flap" on top of the location above the bone was difficult to deal with.
Thinking I am gonna tie it up. Anyone else done it like this? Results better ..read more

Last night wife brought home a nice package of large chicken wings from our local Cattle & Cream shop (love that little shop). So I hit them generously with some Killer Hogs Hot BBQ Rub. Got them on Big Z at 180 for about 40 min to get nice smoke than cranked it to 410. I never opened the lid or touched them for about an hour total time (maybe 75 min), until I opened to probe them for temp and tender. Skin turned out very crispy, they were so juicy it was hard to grab them with the tongs...
