I have a 20+old Peace Lily that has been repotted several times. It is big. The last time it was repotted, I notice that the branches where not standing up straight, so I wrapped gardening string around the branches so there would stay upright. Two days ago, I removed the string and now the branches have all fallen over. How can I fix this ..read more

Do I just wait or do I cut off at the bottom ..read more

Maybe some folks know this, but sharing just in case -- over the past year, I'd say UBC Botanical Garden's Shop in the Garden has significantly expanded its indoor plant selection. It's worth checking out. Arums, hoyas, pileas, some occasional botanical oddities, and so on are all things I think they are trying to regularly stock now.
Can always check the Garden's instagram feed / stories to see if there's anything new (they just posted a couple videos to the IG stories section):...

This corn plant is from my mother's funeral (2016). It was doing beautifully for years, had 2 or 3 shoots. It was transplanted about 3 years ago and I now know I overwatered it. The trunk has decayed and the bark has come off. However, it's still producing new growth. Not sure what to do with it now. Can the trunk be cut above the rot and planted, or the stalk be cut and planted? I'm very sentimental and want to do what I can to save it....

Hi all!
I am new to this community, and also new to taking care of a Jade plants.
I recently bought a large Jade Plant, and in the last few days, I've noticed that it was dropping branches.
Is this normal? Could this be because the plant is acclimatizing to my home?
I've also noticed a few leaves turning crinkly and yellow before dropping.
I've been very careful with my watering (only watered once in the last 3 weeks since I got it, when the soil moisture dipped to 5 according to my...

View attachment 249633 I have 2 Schlumbergera truncata, this orange as well as a white one. It was in flower in December and it's in flower again: on Easter Sunday, though not near as floriferous as in December. View attachment 249634 Same with this S. birdgesii, but it's a much larger plant and must have easily couple of dozen buds and flowers. This particular plant is a family heirloom and we've had it for well over 40 years, it was a cutting from my wife's grandmother's...

My Rabbits Foot fern was recently infected by a parasite and was nearly killed before I was able to do much about it. I repotted it from the closed terrarium it was originally in, cut off the dead fronds, and scraped off every one of the bugs I could find. It has been given enough water to dampen the soil and put back in the indirect sunlight it was in before. Is there anything else I can do to help it, or should I just give it time ..read more
