Does anyone know what this plant is? A neighbor said it wasn’t a cactus. It’s growing like a weed. Need to trim the crown soon before it tips over. *Second photo for shits and giggles since a random cat appeared submitted by /u/Nogamenolife88 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My mom forgot we had a cactus growing in our backyard. It's also next to a body of saltwater. Any idea what it is?

I asked my mom for a cutting and you can just imagine how that conversation ended. Also, would it be ridiculous to place it in a small 3 inch pot after it dries or should I go for a bigger pot? And ouch, it seemed like it didn't have spines but they were there. Super small, white and almost invisible. Guess who found out the hard way? submitted by /u/weiwuxian_is_bae [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I'm here with my cactus again i just really want to know if I should cut it or wash out the sulfur (what looks like it's burning the cactus) and let it grow roots in water instead or what I should do because it's starting to grow mold submitted by /u/Darx_y [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Fertilizer bible - what are your secrets?

I know what you're thinking - great, another fertilizer thread. Except this time, let's keep it approachable for the casual cacti grower. Something sustainable that doesn't require a bunch of prep or lengthy process while still creating a diverse soil microbiome and proper nutrient uptake for the cacti. Ideally, this is a somewhat universal/complete solution (it may not be perfect) as many have multiple cacti & succulent breeds. Specific additional nutrient tips, like kelp foliar feeding for trichos, are of course readily welcome as well. So, what are your fertilizing secrets? What proces ..read more
