Liberty Media Corporation has announced an agreement to acquire MotoGP. MotoGP is the pinnacle of two wheels, with 22 of the fastest riders competing on purpose-built prototype motorcycles on some of the world’s greatest racetracks, reaching top speeds above 360 kilometers per hour/223 miles per hour. From the first season in 1949 that staged six rounds across Europe, the sport has grown to comprise more than 20 Grands Prix across five continents, with the television broadcast reaching hundreds of millions around the world.

Ahead of this weekend’s Portuguese GP at Portimao, Moto2 title contender Fermin Aldeguer, has inked a two year deal that will see the Spanish teenager move to MotoGP with Ducati for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
The talented rider from near Murcia in Spain, finished third in the Moto2 title chase last year. He has a further two year option to remain with Ducati for 2027 and 2028!

With just three sleeps until the QatarGP, the opening round of the 2024 FIM MotoGP World Championship, Ducati and its reigning champion Pecco Bagnaia have announced that they have agreed terms to remain together until at least the end of the 2026 season.

The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports have confirmed the cancellation of the 2024 Argentinean GP.
Due to the current circumstances in Argentina, the promoter of the event has communicated that it is currently unable to guarantee the services required for the Grand Prix to take place at MotoGP standards this year.
The event will not be replaced on the 2024 calendar.

The 2023 MotoGP season was the biggest season we’ve ever seen. We were treated to 20 race weekends between March and November (it had been scheduled to be 21 rounds until the cancellation of the Kazakhstan GP), and with the introduction of the Saturday Sprint we saw lots of action across the season. One thing we didn’t see this season was a full grid of full-time riders.

Well, that’s it – the 2023 MotoGP season has reached its conclusion and we have crowned our champion. For the first time in the MotoGP era, the championship has been decided in the final round for two years in a row. Prior to last season, the championship has only come down to the wire at the finale on 4 other occasions – in 2006 when Nicky Hayden famously beat Valentino Rossi to the crown, in 2013 when rookie Marc Marquez took his first MotoGP title, in 2015 when Jorge Lorenzo won the championship, and in 2017 when Marquez beat Dovizioso to the championship.
