Our blender recently passed away:frowning_face: and we also recently found out we are expecting a little one next year
I was looking into getting a food processor anyway, but now that the blender is dead I’m thinking of a combo machine. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced unit, or give me any pointers on what we should be looking for? Thanks y’all.

I recently found a bargain on a cast iron tortilla press. I will someday try the keto corn tortilla recipe, but I’m wondering what other keto foods could be made or improved with this device? Can I stick a piece of meat in there to sear it? I know it could get messy with high fat content meat like ground beef, but how about fajitas?

Can you make it by only using a food processor? I mean texture wise
I don’t wanna bother with a meat grinder as long as it does a decent job

Turns out, you can put coarse coffee grounds in a fine mesh metal tea infuser and make a decent cup of coffee. Wish I’d thought of this back in my camping days.
Anybody tried it?

I have been using the pigtail flipper for years and wanted to share this great gadget.

I use it to flip just about everything on the grill instead of tongs or flipper spatulas. I have large pigtails to flip a 10 pound brisket with no damage to the bark.
To use it: place the tip on the piece of food you want to flip and roll your wrist to the right and flip. To release the hook roll your wrist to the left… Easy peasy.
It’s great for flipping bacon, shrimp, small vegetables and dipping stuff in batter.

I bought one of these:

Amazon.com: CUTLUXE Slicing Knife – 12" Brisket Knife – High-end Sandvik 14C28N...
It actually works really well. Personally, I think the blade is too long, but all the slicing knives/carving knives/brisket knives have similar dimensions (the cutting part of the blade is about 12 inches, about 30cm).
I use it to cut all my large meat chunks now, and even have used it to cut winter squash.
If you are in the market for a meat knife, this one or a similar one is not a bad idea.

Being that it’s Cyber Monday, I was wondering if I should invest in a sous vide machine. Besides the water heater, do you need to purchase a vacuum sealer, or can I just put meat in a freezer ziplock baggie in a large water bath? Can you get away with just the water heater? Amazon also has them on sale today.

Food & Wine Would You Buy a $400 Chef's Knife?
In the custom knife-making world, knives can go for mid five figures. What makes them so expensive, and is it worth it?
