Hull trim line question

First build of this type for me. I'm at a point where I'm ready to get the electronics set up, but am not sure about the hull trim line. I assume the upper, thinner material will be removed but want to be sure. If that is the trim line, then the control rods will only pass through the deck, which will make setup easier prior to joining the hull and deck. Thanks ..read more

Does anyone out there make a 6'/72" CIGARETTE boat anymore? Renegade Models/ Performance International/ Blackhawk hobbies etc. Used to make one that was a model of the Ajac Hawk race boat. I know Bonzi makes a 84" Apache I'm already working on 1 of those with MHZ NO. 6 drives. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanx Troy ..read more

I have had this sitting for ages. Came across a metal jet pump a couple of years ago, so that went on the shelf too. I have a 9cc NGH gas engine for it, but I took it to a friend to tune better than I could, and he's not happy yet. Use electric for now. As the pump was square/flat and the hull wasn't, I built it up and did my best to get it square/flat. I built up the nozzle to meet the angle of the hull, and there is enough to adjust the trim angle. Gave the body a good scrub and I am... Read more ..read more

Hull Balancing

What is the preferred method for balancing a hull? My build is a 45" with a 50mm jet drive, 5694 1000kv motor, Flier 400a ESC, and two 6s 5500mAhr LiPos. The ESC/receiver tray will be mounted just far enough forward so that the motor can be removed. What is the proper way to balance the hull to set the battery positions? I'm assuming somewhere around 30-40% forward from the transom. Or is this something to just use trial/error on; tape the batteries in place and see how it handles ..read more

Hey All I've jumped back into my 45" jetboat build. 50mm pump and motor are mocked up and temporarily in. I'm looking for ideas on mounting the ESC. I have a 400a which is large and heavy, and would like to mount it on a plate above the floor of the hull. I am searching for standoffs that can be epoxied to the raw floor before I paint the hull interior. I found some nice pieces that use 4mm screws, are 12mm tall and have a wide round base with holes for gluing, but they're located in... Read more ..read more

Spektrum DX3 and Dynamite Kill Switch

Hey guys, I just got a ProBoat Rockstar 48 and am trying to install a dynamite kill switch on it. I've got it all hooked up and it works to kill the engine if I press the 3rd Channel A/B button, but I can't get it to kill the engine with the loss of radio signal. I've tried binding the receiver with the kill switch off, but when it binds it turns the kill switch on. I can't figure out what I need to do to get it to kill with the loss of radio signal. Any advice? DX3 transmitter MR4000... Read more ..read more

For a larger gas boat what is the recommended prop for maximized stability and speed? It's going to be a fun runner so holeshot isn't as important as stability and longevity imo ..read more

For us that run gas boats whats a decent size battery in mah that's going to last an hour or so without worrying about it dying. My issue with the hydro is that the radio area is very small so I need a super compact battery that's more than 1200mah I would think...input ..read more
