I spent the last week in western PA with some good friends at deer camp. We ate well, drank well, had a lot of laughs and hunted hard. The first morning out I was fortunate enough to shoot a decent buck. I had bought a Pennsylvania license in order to hunt on my daughters farm, which I did on opening day of the Pennsylvania season. I didn’t see any bucks only does. Her farm is five hours away, but I still wanted to try some hunting because I already had a license. I only live a few miles from Pennsylvania so I went to the closest piece of federal land I could find. Dad and I were chatting together yesterday and we commented on how much fun we had going on a hunt to Pennsylvania in the past. There would be a large group of us going to Potter and Tioga Co. camping along Pine Creek in October. In fact that is where I got my first deer with a bow. Anyways. I am not sure how severe the winter has been in Pennsylvania. I am curious as to how well they have fared. I still contemplate in the back of my mind a trip to that state.
