WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF HEART ULTRASOUNDS?

A heart ultrasound, also known as a cardiac ultrasound, or an echocardiogram, is an important imaging tool that doctors use to perform routine check-ups on patients. It is also used in critical, emergency situations to help save lives! High frequency sound waves, also known as ultrasound, are transmitted into the body by a small transducer, reflected back, and then processed in the ultrasound machine to create diagnostic pictures and videos of the heart. Cardiac ultrasounds are performed by diagnostic cardiac sonographers, or cardiovascular technologists. These tests are performed independentl ..read more

A cardiovascular technologist, sometimes referred to as a technician, acts as the eyes and ears of a doctor. Cardiovascular technologists use high frequency sound waves, also known as ultrasound, to create diagnostic images of the heart, veins, and arteries. Ultrasound signals are sent into the body, reflected back, and processed to create a moving, 2-dimensional video clip of the anatomy. You can even see blood flowing through the heart, veins, and arteries with color flow Doppler! WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF A CARDIOVASCULAR ULTRASOUND? A Cardiovascular Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure that ..read more

Understanding Ultrasound Credentials & The Importance of Becoming "Registered" In Ultrasound
The Cure Center Blog

DO I NEED TO BE CREDENTIALED (“REGISTERED”) TO WORK IN ULTRASOUND? The answer, for 46 out of 50 of the United States, is no. You do not need to be credentialed in ultrasound to legally work in the field of ultrasound unless you live in New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota or Oregon. Like nursing, these states require Ultrasound Technologists to hold a license to perform ultrasounds, which means they need to pass a credentialing exam in order to perform ultrasounds in those states. In all other states, there is no state licensure requirement and you do not need to be credentialed to perform ..read more

STETHOSCOPES CAN'T SEE. "ULTRA" SCOPES CAN.

Wouldn't it seem odd if you were pregnant and went to the doctor and they used a stethoscope to hear your baby and determine if everything was ok instead of an ultrasound? I think so. So, why do doctors and medical practitioners use an antiquated device that was invented in 1816, over 200 years ago, that hasn't changed much at all, when we have superior (by far) technology that is better? Ultrasound Technologists, AKA Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, use ultrasound technology instead. Ultrasound sees, hears, measures and safely captures images of the fetus and all of the surrounding structure ..read more

Students that are exposed to externships such as Mount Sinai have a clear picture of what the life of a sonographer working in a hospital is like. And this is a very valuable part of ultrasound education. The CURE Center provides quality ultrasound education that includes hands-on training at CURE as well as participation in sites off campus with clinical affiliates. The affiliation between the school and Mount Sinai Medical Center has allowed students to gain valuable experience doing scans, learning different techniques and being exposed to advanced ultrasound procedures. While there are se ..read more

WE WILL GET BACK TO NORMAL

We will get back to normal, despite what Fauci says. We will do this by understanding that we will never stop viruses. But we CAN reduce the symptoms and keep breathing. We can put viruses at bay and create vaccines and live with them, but they will still exist and we will all be vulnerable to them at some point. I have no doubts that we can stop the deaths from this virus. People are not technically dying from a virus. They are dying from the symptoms which come from our bodies own immune system. I think being persistent and finding the answers is something we can all participate in, using a ..read more

What does a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer do? Diagnostic Medical Sonographers are also known as Ultrasound Technologists. They collect images of the organs through high frequency sound waves. Ultrasound is sent into the body through a transducer, reflected back, processed in the machine, and turned into actual images and videos of human anatomy. These images allow radiologists to see the organs and assess their structure and function. Why is Diagnostic Medical Sonography important? Through these images, the doctor can make a diagnosis for the patient. Diagnostic Medical Sonographers provide ..read more
