Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend and welcome to MAY! Personally, the month of May holds a special spot in my heart. It's the gateway to my favorite season, filled with outdoor activities like railfanning. Of course, it also means one of my favorite shows is just around the corner. Last weekend it looked like a lot of maintenance was done, boilers were tested, hotels went up and building was at a feverish pitch. Let's keep it going and see what we have for goals this week.... Early 1960's Model Railroaders

I recently came into a bunch of MR's from the sixties from my step-son who got them from a guy, free, when he bought a layout from him. I have quite a few of them already but I didn't really start buying them until late 1967 when I became involved in actual N scale (after Treble-O-Lectric). It's interesting how much earlier some things happened than I had thought. Linn Westcott was designing and building transistorized throttles actually in the late fifties and publishing several articles... Early 1960's Model Railroaders ..read more

Greetings and salivations all! Sorry I’ve taken so long to post something, but finally I have... well... something. I’ve not got the room for a working layout so I plan to build a roughly 4’ x 8’ diorama of the MKT railroad through my home town of Temple, Texas, circa the 1950s. I’m building stand-alone modules around each key structure and eventually they’ll be pieced together on a layout table to form the diorama. I plan to build about twenty structure modules. I also have some period... Texas Interlocking Tower 24 ..read more

Just had to share. Thoughts? I have been looking for a good database that has all the brands in it.. so far I think Trovestar is pretty good. Am I missing any good sites? I am wondering if there are any standouts. I have a 20x20 room that is empty. Big dreams ..read more

Hi there fellow z-scale modellers, I have changed my prototype from the Moffat Tunnel to the SP Coast Line depicting the Gaviota Trestle bridge. This to highlight the beauty of AZL’s SP Daylight passenger train consists. After having measured this bridge its length comes out to be 112cm (44”) in z-scale! As I am examining the bridge and its measurements I noticed the lattice girders and started... Scratch build lattice girders - Gaviota Trestle ..read more

Brand new only took them out of the bags a few time to realize I was not in the mood to try and paint them, even with my new airbrush. Not sure I will include the original box, as I will ship in my own box. Original instructions included with each building. Completely unassembled as I received them. One instruction actually states 1:150, have no idea, as I bought Assembled and Painted ones before these and they look fine. Price for both... EveModel Unassembled Buildings ..read more
