Is it possible to play BOTW on WiiU with anything other than the large WiiU controller?
I have a Switch and Switch Pro Controller, a PS3 dual shock controller and Gamecube style 3rd party controller that connects to the nunchuk port on a wii remote.
The last of those works on the WiiU menu perfectly but seems to be locked out when I actually run the game which is a pity.
Is there something I need to change in the WiiU settings to get it to work in-game ..read more

Been reading up on amiibo functionality in zelda.
Sounds pretty cool in that you actually get some benefit from them.
Sold out everywhere though and going for silly money.
Anyone been using them to get loot drops ..read more

No hard release date was given (just "Summer"), but the contents of the first half of the pack were listed on the game's website a short time ago. The features include:

Hard Mode, which raises all enemies by one level (Red Bokoblins becoming Blue) and gives them...

Since the Switch was announced I've been far more excited than any middle aged man should be about a a console release and have been having a great time following the threads and discussing the merits of the Switch.
As a thank you to all the members who have been contributing to the Switch thread, I have decided to do a giveaway of my...

A little early but there might be a few of us lucky enough to get a copy before the 3rd
Plenty of these play and help threads on the PS4 boards, and Zelda seems like it'll worth having one for. Share your experiences (spoilers please!), ask questions, and help your fellow AVF adventurers make their merry way around Hyrule ..read more

So my gaming friends and I were having a long discussion the other night about how utterly amazing Breath of the Wild has been and where Nintendo can take the Zelda series from here. Like Ocarina of Time, BotW is such a huge leap forward for the series it'll take some beating, and they're bound to upset some fans whichever direction they go. Should they go back to the old formula, stick with open world design, or go in a completely new direction?
We came up with a few possibilities for the...
