In 2020 the EU proposed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels. According to experts, the high level of ambition to tackle the climate crisis will put the EU on a balanced pathway to reaching climate neutrality by 2050.

The big issue
In September 2021, Dalberg published a report in collaboration with the WWF on how the real cost of producing virgin plastic is not really accounted for by the companies and countries at large. Furthermore, they outline that the production, consumption and disposal of this material impose significant negative impacts on society, the environment, and the economy. Plastic packaging is an integral part of our daily lives and is ubiquitously found in increasing amounts worldwide.
