1. Get a better angle
Don’t be afraid to move around a bit and get more than a front profile of your horse. Horses look best from a side on angle with their body square up ( all 4 feet in alignment) .

Tell Me About Your Horse: I’ve owned my pony Lucky, otherwise known as Local Dreamer, since I was 8. He’s a 20 year old Section B Welsh Pony gelding. He’s a chestnut color, with a few white spots on his belly and an interesting dun stripe! His favorite thing to do is definitely traveling, he loves to show, and he enjoys his occasional trail ride & grazing outside. He also likes getting baths! He has taught me so much, and has 100% made me the rider, and person, I am today.
Do you own/lease ?: I own my pony, though I have leased two horses over the last few years.

When you hire an equine photographer you get so much more than a photography expert, you also get an equine expert. You are getting someone who knows when and where it is safe to take a horse, someone who knows how to handle a horse, and someone who has experience getting ears forward. Most of all you are getting patience and understanding.
Conformation
Capturing horses in the most flattering angle takes more than just the knowledge of horses. It is an obsession. Equine photographers know the angles ..read more
