EOL dates for firmware.
-----------------------
Anyone know if the EOL is calculated from start of sale for a new model, or when they stop selling it?
Can't find this on QNAP, just vague statements.
Don't want to spend on a new model to find its stops sale 6 months after and then firmware updates stop 1-2 years after!

Greetings. I don't mind Surveillance Station except I have 5 cams I'd like to use and can't buy additional licenses anymore for SS. I tried QVR Pro, on it's own volume of 1 TB. Away from home once I used the phone app to start recording and the volume filled up in no time at all. Surveillance station doesn't do that. I know that QVR records in multiple formats.
I tried Blue Iris in a Windows 11 VM but on my TS-251, starting even one cam pushed the CPU to 100% so that's a no go.
I have...

Hello all, I am deciding which NAS to purchase, the TVS-h674 or the TS-873A. The TVS-h674 is out of my budget, but sometimes you must do what you must. I would like to purchase the TS-873A if I can get away with it. I own an eight-bay NAS, but it is not flexible for future upgrades.
This is what I have now in Hardware. I have six 12TB hard drives, two 1TB NVMe for Caching, 32GB of memory, and two 500GB 2.5 SSDs, which I can use for another pool for ISCSI and VMs. I also own a...

Hello all. I will be setting up my NAS in a few days and looking at Youtube videos which may have been a mistake I trying to decide if I should set my NAS up for QTS or QTShero. I Will be use it for home Plex media server a couple of VM's and maybe a container. Setting up the Kids a Minecraft Server. Using for Adobe Lightroom.
Option 1 QuTSHero Setup storage pool using two NVMe's as the System Pool, using my six hard drives for data and adding two more NVMe's for VM'S.
Option 2 QTS Setup...

Hi! Trying to upgrade the ethernet speed on my QNAP TS-453Be, I purchased a Sabrent NT-SS5G external 5Gbps Ethernet dongle. Sabrent provides Linux drivers on their website but I have no idea how to make this work on QNAP.
This dongle runs on the Aquantia AQtion chipset.
Any ideas?
Thank you very much ..read more

- Experiencing < 20MB/s transfer from desktop computer to NAS with very large file (> 256GB), when expected would be full Gigabit speeds (~125MB/s)
- QNAP system is 16GB RAM and 4 HDDs in RAID5 (raw write performance in this configuration should be the same as of a single hard drive, ie ~150MB/s).
- QNAP also includes 512GB NVMe SSD working as cache, which should prevent write bottlenecks.
- Low CPU and memory usage of both computer and NAS
- Tested with different CAT5e cables and router...

Hi all
I could use some advice, I have a TS-231 which has 2 1TB disks in a RAID 1 array. I'm over 80% used capacity so thought a disk update is needed, I got a couple of 4tb WD Reds and today set about swapping the first disk. I made sure to follow the process. Going to storage manager and selecting change disk on the first disk.
As soon as I pulled the disk the UI reported connection loss to the NAS. I carried on and replaced the disk and reinserted. Now I can't access the UI to check on...
