Top academic researchers are rolling the dice on a board game demystifying dementia difficulties for carers and care professionals. The Dementia Inequalities Game has been developed by the University of Liverpool, the Lewy Body Society and SURF, in collaboration with people who have lived and professional experience of dementia. The COBALT Trial aims to find out if Memantine as a treatment for patients with Lewy Body Dementia improves overall health and function when given alongside an Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor. A Scarf For Lewy Belfast On 17th October we held our long-awaited awareness-raising event in Belfast, which was the second time we have wrapped ‘A Scarf for Lewy’ around a major landmark building.    The mile-long scarf which was lovingly knitted by volunteers last year and wrapped around the Royal Albert Hall in London was transported across the Irish Sea and unwound around the stunning concert venue Waterfront Hall.   We also had a new addition of over xx pomoms which had been knitted especially for this event and added some wonderful  add ..read more

A charity is calling for more awareness of ‘forgotten type of dementia’ to improve diagnosis, care, support, treatment and research this World Alzheimer’s Day (Sept 21).
