God is patient and persistent. What does it mean to be faithful? How do we know that God is faithful? And what does God’s faithfulness mean for us as disciples? Too often we think that fellowship is done in church on Sunday morning. We act as though because we sat in a pew, sang songs together, and possibly “turned and greeted our neighbors” (if your church does that), we have fulfilled our call to fellowship. As believers, as disciples, we are commanded to love. This love is not conditional. Because God’s love for us is not conditional. In our sin, muck, shame, and regret, God’s love for us was no less than it was when we accepted the gift of salvation. Therefore our love for others should reflect that as well. We are called to love the Holy people and broken people. When we say that we love well it means that we love God fully, our love for him and others is an act of worship and obedience.
