Good evening, this is my first post on this forum. I'm trying to trace a model of a Universal Genève watch that unfortunately I no longer have but which I was very fond of. The watch was purchased in the mid-1970s. Quartz movement, ultra-flat gold case, hexagonal (elongated) tonneuau shape, black dial (if I'm not mistaken without indications of the hour numbers except perhaps for the reference ones but still not by numbers), narrow black crocodile strap. I apologize for the lack of precision... Identification Universal Genève model 70’s ..read more

Wakmann Diver Chronograph ('Big Boy')

Just found this beat up Wakmann for sale and had to snatch it up. No pictures of the movement and listed as not working, but I thought "for that price, what the heck!" Turns out it just needed to be wound and it's running within 30sec/day. I'll wear it as is, but the list of issues I'd like to fix someday include: -Missing bezel (if anyone knows where to find one hook me up) -Cracked crystal -Stuck minute hand on... I have never tried to repair a watch, but I bought this 1962 Marlin with the intent of learning a few things and hopefully not breaking it. it is running, but the hands are misaligned. And the crown is pretty hard to turn Any advice is appreciated, but here are a few questions. 1. How should I clean this movement up and loosen up the crown? 2. Should I do that? 3. I assume the hands I... Help with Vintage Timex ..read more

I was wondering if anyone has any info on Enzo watches? My grandmother found this watch at an estate sale at some point and recently gave it to me. It needs at least a crown and a crystal, but the dial and “plaque or G 10 microns” case are both in nice shape. I take it this is a similar quality of plating to what would be referred to as rolled gold? I’m sure its not of any great value, but if it was a reasonably well made watch I might try getting it serviced. All I can find on Enzo is... Enzo watches info ..read more

Hi, I recently bought this repeater, and being fairly familiar with the vintage models, I was intrigued by the train, as I had never seen one like it. I set about fixing the mechanical issue, and noticed how unique the repeater is. The movement size is roughly 38.75mm, and other than seeing “Depose”, there is nothing else I see. Here are some images of it ..read more

Steve here...First post been prowling around here for a while. Great site. I just recently sent my dads Hamilton to Mark and Tan, to have it fixed. The watch was broken rattled when you moved it back and forth. It had been sitting in a jewelry box for many many decades. I think I can remember my dad wearing it when I was a little boy in the late 60's. Tan just sent it back it had a broken screw in the rotor. Its a 619. Here is a pic. It runs great. Steven[ATTACH... This is my first time being her so if I mess up, Please be kind. I recently made a impulsive purchase of what I believe to be an 1873 pocket watch. For me, it was about the history of what this watch must have seen, heard, and been through. So if you can help, I would love it. [ATTACH... waltham princess pocket watch movement Help ..read more
