Poor thing does not know what is in store for it.  Tissot Ladies watch from the late 60s to very early seventies.  Non runner, I have paid £18 for it. The case looks identical to the Missus's daily wearer, so I have a good idea that the movement inside is the 17 jewel Tissot 709-2. 6.75''' . I love the simple elegance of these watches and the chrome case with a white leather strap looks stunning and very wearable today. I already had a spare 709-2 in stock ready for repair and servicing, so it seemed a shame not to have a ready prepared movement to drop straight in.  I stripped ..read more

Hi I have a what I belive to be a vintage watch but I’m having trouble finding out any information about it , the make of the watch is called Services, I recently saw a post on here that someone else had a services watch and one guy was really helpful and knowledgeable, he put up a few Services logos determing  what year it was manufactured depending on the style the word Services was displayed I.e style and boldness of the letters , unfortunately the style mine is written wasn’t any of the ones mentioned . Saw a 1970s Sicura Marine Star on the bay.  Non runner / spares and repair only.  Nice looking watch and I believe a 17 jewel movement.  I thought I would have a punt at £20, it being a 17 jewel movement and I guess as such, one could call it a collectable.  Case looks to be in good condition. Absolutely gobsmaked to see it go for £156.... For a spares and repair watch and a sicura / felsa movement.  I guess someone thought they were buying a Breitling. No way to edit original post.      Edit.  Ronda movement.  Dunno why I put felsa ..read more

I recently discovered a watch which belonged to my grandmother. It must have been sat in a cupboard for over 30 years since she passed away and I suspect is at least 50 years old.  It’s a ladies Jaeger LeCoultre Turler with a gold dial.  It has serial number on the back as follows: 6038 21, 1435383 If anyone can give me any more info about this watch I’d be very grateful!  ..read more

Hey guys, new to the forum so I hope this is posted in the right place. I bought several watches in an auction as part of a mixed lot (I was after a particular vinyl record in the same box). I’d like to know some information about these three watches. One is a Mowbre, one is a Buler and one is a Tressa.   https://share.icloud.com/photos/05bRB9kjdzFggzJcwyDx15ApA ..read more

I have inherited a Roy C King watch. It's a gaudy piece made of 18 carat gold with diamonds and sapphires. The watch hands are loose and one end of the strap is broken. I'd like to have the watch properly restored to working order. Would appreciate a recommendation for a vintage watch restorer. I'm in northwest London. Thank you!    ..read more

Servicing Kienzle 48/15

It was quite a ride as kind of really different from Swiss or French caliber. Got a good result   Kienzle 48/15 Caliber http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Kienzle_048_15 Findings Overall a bit more difficult to service without being too crazy. Interesting design decisions most probably to help mass production. Some wheels outside of bridge, and also some external force applied on gears or jewels ..read more
