Pryme has developed a new cost-effective approach to pyrolysis that allows used plastic to be recycled with a high conversion rate on an industrial scale and with a lower carbon footprint than other recycling methods.

22 Apr 2024 --- Ahead of the fourth round of UN’s negotiations for an international plastics treaty in Ottawa, Canada, from April 23–29, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) has released a study revealing plastic production’s “enormous” climate impact, reinforcing the importance of mandatory production cuts in the Global Plastic Treaty.
The report’s key findings include that plastics’ impact on the climate starts with extraction: 75% of all GHG emissions from primary plastic production happen before the polymerization stage.

19 Apr 2024 --- The Composting Consortium has released a new study analyzing the disintegration of over 23,000 units of compostable packaging in what it says is the largest known field test of certified, food-contact compostable packaging conducted in North America.
The study shows higher disintegration rates for compostable plastics than for compostable fibers and suggests differing methods for improvement, such as brands using surface area measurements when testing their compostable products and packaging at compost facilities.  ..read more

19 Apr 2024 --- Sony has announced it is the first company in the electronics industry to eliminate polystyrene foam cushioning material for the Bravia 9, the 85-inch 4K Mini LED TV, in Hong Kong and Taiwan, furthering the company’s efforts to achieve a zero environmental impact by 2050.
