greetings to everyone from Italy Last month I bought a 1998 Cougar built for the Italian market (only 1200 were sold in Italy) after 250km I had a big problem. in practice the car turns on and after about a minute it turns off (or it turns off while driving and starts again by itself by accelerating very hard) I noticed that the pats light stays on. sometimes it starts, other times it doesn't even start. replaced the VSS, after the car sat for two weeks from said VSS. Went to start it and only had 3 volts at battery. Used my ancient charger on 5 amp but got distracted and swapped the charger leads. After a reswap and a proper charge, it only ran 3 seconds then shut off, and no start since. edit: had battery checked, its fine. I have crank but no spark. As the title says my car is stuck in park and will not let me press the button to shift the shifter into Drive or anything. Yes the brake lights are still working when I press the brake pedal but it’s just not letting me shift out of park. Which is why I’m confused. Had a similar issue on my focus before but got it fixed. Anybody know the fluid capacity of the braking system? I posted this on Facebook but I have no idea why. The owner's manual simply says "Fill to MAX mark", which is not helpful. The GREAT news - I installed a double DIN head unit in my 99 Cougar - turned out even better than I thought it would - will post instructions/pics later. This is very doable with patience and the right parts. The BAD news - After I got everything all done, I realized that I left a CD in the original stock unit (F82F-18C815-BA). I really don't want to completely remove the dash and all to connect the old unit to the car just to retrieve the disc.
