A fine start to the season for the NIMRA internationals!
The 1st International trip of the season saw a x4 female and x5 male strong NIMRA team travel to Keswick, England to compete in the British Intercounties Senior Mountain race on 21/04/2024. This year’s race also doubled up as the British Athletics trial race for the “up and down” event at the Senior European Off-Road Running Championships due to take place in Annecy, France from 31st May to 2nd June 2024. NORTHERN IRELAND MOUNTAIN RUNNING REPORT 2023
The overall winners of the nine race NIMRA Championship were Adam Cunningham (Mourne Runners) and Esther Dickson (Newry AC). Second places in the Championship were filled by Joshua McAtee & Jonny Steede 3rd . In ladies Bernadette O’Kane 2nd & Alexa James 3rd. Category winners were M40 Jonny Steede, M45 James Lappin, M50 Clive Bailey, M55 Stephen Hoey, M60 Colin Brennan & M70 Ricky Cowan.
