I decided to have a go at one of these just for a change. It's a very old kit and it shows, mould marks, creases in the deck and hull. Got the feeling that this is going to be the same for every part.
Great fun this hobby. Better order a container load of filler and sanding sticks.... Pantherman ..read more

Seeing as how were getting closer to TORCAN 2024 being held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at Save Max Sports Center in Brampton Ontario. I figured I would post a thread and see if any of our “Ontario” Canadian addicts are planning to head to it? Or perhaps enter?. Im definitely going to be there for the ability to buy stuff, and im toying with the idea of entering some stuff, I will of course need to get my skills, and equipment back up to the levels I had them at before I had to take my...

Yep. That's me. From Phoenix Arizona! Getting back into the hobby. Wow there's a lot of cool stuff out there. When I was growing up it was building the Snake and Mongoose. I wish I still had them. But, alas. I think a couple firecrackers might have been involved ..read more

Recently retired and got back into the hobby. I still had a big old Revell box full of old tester paints and my brushes and exacto knives. I've always built Revell when I was growing up in the'70s. So I bought a Revell 1/32 Super Hornet. In this day of age we have YouTube where you can learn how to do anything. What I learned is I needed to go do some shopping for some tools and airbrushes. And then I find out how mostly bad Revell kits are so I bought the Tamia 1/48 Tomcat. Holy moly what a...

A fast question. Does anyone here use plastic putty (by vallejo I think) and what do you think of it?
I normally use Mr Hobby white putty, but I have seen alot of people using the plastic putty on youtube and it looks like it cleans up easily. If it does clean up as easy as they show I would like to get that and use it. Tamiya putty and Mr Hobby putty are good I like them, but if I can clean up with water instead of sand paper I'm good with that ..read more

Hi Everyone,
I'm a new guy here on the forum. I have a 100+ stash of 1/48 & 1/35 and a few 1/72 kits, collected over a number of years, lots of old Testors [yellow box] and some more recent Airfix, MiniArt, ICM, AFV, Dragon, Trumpeter, Mirror, Italeria... etc... Finally, now , I have the time to get started on some of these kits. I'm set up good with a nice 'Hobby Zone' lay out and lots of tools.
What I'm looking for is an 'app' that I can put on the iPad that will let me track...
