Heller vs RoG (Monogram) EB110

Hey y'all, I saw a video on YouTube about the Bugatti EB110 (NOT Doug Demuro) and it got me considering building one. I have two Monograms in my stash because I've always loved this perfect little weirdo car. I was excited to build one as a practice for a diorama and then do a very serious job on the second (this may be more of a commitment than I can handle right now). I found that one of my Monogram kits is incomplete! While considering replacing it, I started wondering, should I get the Heller kit instead? If I get one each, which should be the basis for the "serious" build? Basically, is ..read more

Been a while since I've posted here and I was planning on doing a full WIP but life got in the way. Great kit in many ways but has some major flaws: opening panels didn't fit well particularly the doors which were too small and all the hinges had to be remade as the kit items are useless, the body had hundreds of bubbles that needed drilling and filling and most annoyingly, although the wheelbase and ride height is good, the front track is all wrong and I needed to cut, shorten & pin the upper and lower wishbones. Good luck If you're building one! Hope you enjoy and thank you Alex for the ..read more

I'm looking to start my collection by finding the cars I used to own... My first car was a 1983 Honda Civic 2nd generation. I'm having a hard time finding any scale models; 1st gen comes up in a Google search, but 2nd and 3rd get skipped. Any one got advice on where to look for a scale model 2nd gen Civic? cheers ..read more

Question for those who know about Lancia Stratos

G'day all I just received from HLJ another 2 Stratos kits for the collection - one of which is Alen's 79 RAC car. Most of the kits I have are for tarmac rallies, however 1 or 2 (incl this one) are for gravel, & I don't have my Rally Giants book to hand... Did Lancia adjust ride height/spring rate much to accommodate different rallies (excluding Safari of course - I would expect longer struts on such a rally)? The kit comes with the standard wide Magnesio rims which would suggest a tarmac set up. There are only a few pics online which all seem to show the wide rims for this rally. Any adv ..read more

Help with Escort interior colour

Hi all Trying to regain some modelling mojo, I pulled out my 2 Belkits Mk1 Escorts & made a start. Looking at the instructions for both, they seem to show the cockpit 'pan' to be painted X-11 (Chrome). Given the propensity for a lot of 70's rally cars to have black interiors, I would've thought this was the case, not chrome or some other 'steel' colour. Advice anyone ..read more

I used my home-made CNC plasma setup to cut some 19" long representations of vintage cars & motorcycles. I've done about 25 different bikes so far. They're not as detailed as small plastic models, but they look ok displayed in my little home office.
