I don't recall seeing one of these before James but that has turned out very nice indeed.

So I take it this is a 'Fear of ballsing up a once in the life-time build' situation Al?
Oh, I don't know about that Stuart; it isn't like you can't get that kit any more - there are plenty on eBay from between £300 to £500

I will be watching with even more interest now Stuart as I recently bought that same Sherman and made a tentative start but now it is back in the stash. The daft thing is I often buy the Tamiya kits because they come with figures yet that is what I fear painting the most. I've watched numerous YouTube videos on the subject but if anything they make it worse, not better. Maybe you will turn out to be my messiah in this case (no pressure bud! ).

I like your Beaufighter, Andrew, but there is a decal lifting!
I suppose you have fixed it by now.
David
Thanks David. I did not spot that until the photo shoot. It has been stuck down again!

I must have that Airfix magazine. I had better not look it up in case I see errors I can not live with.

Thanks Shaun. Yes I am adding quite a few more to my collection of paints as well. Their range seems to have good colour matches without having to mix paints like Tamiya. And although I wasn't a fan of their semi gloss finish at first, I am warming to it now.

Cool! I've got one of these somewhere, too!
I've seen where someone scribed a deep line into the centreline of the lower wing part, then gently bent the wings upwards. Then they sanded back the upper wing roots to fit. Might be worth considering.
I will give that a try, thanks!
(OK, I'd try anything that has a chance to implement some dihedral on the wings, without it, it looks like a frisbee... )

Made some more progress.
Wings now attached although, as can be seen, filler will be required at the wing roots -
Matchbox made an error when tooling the perspex window that sits above the Navigator's position. They added two diagonal "frames" to the window. In reality, there were no such frames. On the real aircraft, there were two bracing bars mounted in the fuselage under the clear panel and they could be seen through the window. The window itself was pretty clear apart from some framing around the edges.
You can see what they did in the pictures below.
