Today I scored the mother load at the Goodwill Outlet store in Akron, OH. It's a store where they charge by the weight v. per item. So, stuff is much cheaper than usual. This may be my last posting for some time, as I absolutely am out of room. I've become far too addicted to this hobby, and I seriously need to stop the hoarding. Anyway, 20 buildings and 1 sleigh in total in this trip. 4 are O scale, 2 are HO, and 14 are N scale. All are dated from the 80's and 90's. The 6 houses in the back... Today's Haul ..read more

I picked these 2 beauties up at a Goodwill in Akron, OH. the other day for a couple of bucks. The first one is stamped "Hawthorne Village Falbrooke Florist Thomas Kinkade's Lamplight Village Collection 1999". The second one has no stamp. Both are ceramic. No box or light included. I really like them both. [ATTACH... Falbrooke Florist ..read more

I put up a new shelf to make room for my ever expanding village. It's up near the ceiling, which is slanted. So, I can only make use of about half of it. I lit them up with a strand of LED C7 lights ..read more

I'm looking for more info. From what I've found online there was a frankenstein bart, marge and gorilla homer, but nobody else. They were made around 1992 and could have been related to the treehouse of horror series that would air every halloween on the show. I'm also interested in acquiring these if anyone has any. Can anyone help ..read more

Holiday Waltz

Yesterday I found this "Holiday Waltz" diorama by Mr. Christmas. Made in 1996. I found it at a Goodwill in Canton, Ohio for $7. It's a Victorian Ballroom diorama, with 5 couples that dance around the ballroom dance floor. You plug it in, and it lights up, plays music and watch the couples dance. It came in the original box and everything was included except for the clarinet player. The piano had 2 broken legs, which I replaced with toothpicks and painted. The bass player was missing his bow... Holiday Waltz ..read more

Monster Scenes: Only not. Could it work?

OK---now that we have seen the upcoming re-release of two kits formerly known as Monster Scenes, and with the resin Sceners and Graveyard Scenes kits experiencing some enthusiasm---a question begs to be asked. Would a line of plastic models in 1/13 scale, that are compatible with Monster Scenes, yet not called Monster Scenes, work for you? If a company decided to produce new, original torture devices and misfits that were in a compatible scale with Aurora and Dencomm's MS kits---would... Monster Scenes: Only not. Marley's Ghost! I found this today at the Goodwill in Medina, Ohio for $8. Light included. No box. Excellent condition. Stamped "Santa's Workbench Collection Victorian Series Brooks Terrace 2005". It's Scrooge being visited by Marley's ghost, chains and all. I'm sorry that I can't get a better shot with my camera than this. It looks much better with the naked eye. The level of detail is impressive. I made a place for it in my Victorian diorama. [ATTACH... Marley's Ghost ..read more

This was one of those projects you work on sporadically for years. I finished the last of the Haunted Glo-Heads last year, having started them in 2011. Along the way, I created the display base; it's useful for model shows, too big for my basem ent. The important thing is, it's done ..read more
