Delonghi Magnifica Evo Steam Cuts Out

I have just picked up a Delonghi Magnifica Evo (ECAM29031SB) to replace a well utilised Magnifica S that had reached the end of its service life. After approximately 90 seconds from the time the steam knob is turned on, the steam light starts flashing quickly and then the steam cuts off. It is possible to get the steam going again, but you have to turn the steam tap off, wait for the lights to flash 2-3 times, press the steam button again, wait for it to be ready then turn the steam knob... 5 month old Breville Express - Is it dying? No noise when turning on and takes 20 seconds before pump starts when making a shot.

It just started this week. I went to turn it on like I always do and instead of the normal loud pump noise getting things ready there is just a very faint humming, if you werent listening for it you would think it was just silence. Then when I push the shot button to start making a drink the machine just sits there for 20 seconds doing nothing that I can really here before the pump then suddenly kicks on and water starts flowing. It used to start pumping water and getting the pressure up... Read more ..read more

Hi everyone, I have the machine for approx. one year. I enjoy it very much. Lately though I have this issue. Every now and then, and only when I use the single filter (double no issues at all) I experience a small coffee leakage from the left side of the brew head. I tried to tighten the filter, tried to clean the head seal (although as I said, it happens only with single filter), nothing helps. Needless to say, Im using all the original accessories. Any ideas? Cheers ..read more

Hi, All, I've just joined the forum... it looks really interesting! I would like to find out a few things about our now "near-vintage" espresso coffee machines. I run two machines, alternating them as they need service. One is a Saeco Via Veneto (over 15 years old). The other is a Spidem Trevi Combi Plus (about 10 years old, I think.) The Saeco is running well but the Spidem needs a new brass steam valve body as the internal thread has stripped (steam knob blew out... big... Read more ..read more

La Marzocco GB5 Repair Questions

Hi everyone. I am trying to get into the coffee game by opening a coffee shop and I have an opportunity to buy a 2013 La Marzocco GB5 2 GRP for 4800$. I have briefly inspected the inside once, but unfortunately did not take pictures. From my amatuer analysis, it seems the previous owner did not use a water filter. There is evidence of heavy scaling and it does not look like it was properly cleaned before being put in storage. There seems corrosion like a car battery has on the group head... Hey Everyone! New here! Here's what I'm looking for: Fully Automatic (I don't have time for manual) Preferably a larger resevoir (currently the one I have is less than a bottle of water 16.9 oz) Up to a Double Pull, but also enjoy Americano, and Cappucino (not required) Budget $800 but would prefer closer to the $500-$700 range. I have these things: A grinder, and Milk steamer/frother. I tried out a Nespresso Vertuo Plus before realizing they were still in a patent... Read more ..read more

Help with filters and what they are used for

Hi all. New to the forum. I have had an espresso machine, Nuova Simonelli, Oscar. It has two filter holders, double and single and five filters, four of them are very large to progressively smaller. Im kind of guessing that the two bigger ones are for the double holder and two smaller are for the single, depending on how strong or how much espresso you want. I guess I will have to just kind of experiment and see what is best? there is also a fifth one that just fits into the holders... Read more ..read more
