Bhopal’s cyber-crime branch said Monday that it had arrested the absconding head of a Shivpuri-based racket that bought SIM cards using forged ID documents and then sold them on to online fraudsters based in Delhi. Police say the accused bought SIM cards for Rs 50 each using forged Aadhar cards and sold them for Rs 500 each. Officers report that the accused have admitted to providing more than 1,500 SIM cards using forged IDs in the past four months. Pune: There has been an increase in the number of instantaneous mortgage apps on the Android Play Store, which were created for the specific purpose of financial fraud. Pune cyber cell officials said the number of complaints related to mortgage scams increased significantly in 2021 and 2022, with 928 and 319 complaints, respectively.
