I think it’s simply a matter of luck and the creators of the show treating the subject and its fans with the respect it deserves. Both Andor and the first season of Mandalorian were interesting, despite not featuring the infernal space wizards. Ahsoka and Obiwan otoh managed to completely fluff it’s attempt at creating an interesting show set in a universe that is so well known (or maybe it’s because they didn’t dare to do new storylines/themes?)
