Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II by Monty Roberts (C) Monty Roberts Archives Solvang, California – September 29, 2022 — The death of Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022, encouraged me to collectivize my thoughts on my life. Born in 1935, I was the son of a father who believed violence was the answer to raising a child. The CAT Scan and the MRI in 1981 revealed a massive number of fractures that were identified as happening prior to the age of puberty. While there was much violence in my life, I was fortunate to grow up in the presence of horses. There was no question in my m ..read more

Eating Scottsdale I’m not always sure what drives trends — demand, I suppose — but I appreciate and benefit from the many fresh food offerings that are available almost as fast and furious as the more traditional fast-food outlets. I’ve been coming to the Scottsdale area for horse shows since 2007. I can honestly say the variety of restaurants near the WestWorld showgrounds has never been better. No disrespect to the on-site vendors. I’ve eaten well at their food truck and venues before and between classes too. However, when I’ve got a no-classes day or drug myself to the end of the day after ..read more
