Help! This is a new shower that would take our 1/2 bath to a 3/4. We picked out this mosaic tile that was on mesh, and were assured it would be no problem. As he went to apply it, there was no waterproofing. I had to insist he waterproof. He also cut our areas of the tile so he could Gorilla tape them to the wall telling me that since I made him waterproof he couldn’t use nails like he normally would. Once grouted, the spacing issues became very visible. From afar it looks good but when in there, not so much. There are several flowers missing their center and some on their sides. This was in a customers house. $700k home, basement remodel done probably 5-6 years ago. Vanity was free floating next to the wall as well.

I’m looking to put in a backsplash and am unsure of which way to lay out the tiles. I’ll be doing behind the stovetop and the whole corner behind the sink. My question is, which layout is best? Fully framed? Partially? Or just a row ontop? Ignore the sand colored tiles - the green ones are what I’ll be using.
The blue and light pink tiles are just to represent our cabinet and wall colours. The only tiles that will be used for the backsplash are the green and turquoise ones.

Getting super overwhelmed with what we need in order do this and not sure what is actually needed at this time. Can we apply for a business license without having or obtaining a contractors license? We’ve reserved a name for our business but still need to hire a registered agent and prepare and file VA articles of organization before setting up our LLC. We have liability insurance but no workers comp because we do not have any employees. Please help with any tips or w ..read more

This is my first time working with marble tile. I pre-sealed the tile before floor installation. Now, I'm ready for grout and the grout I've chosen requires sealer. Do I need to be concerned about the grout sealer damaging the tiles? I've only ever used sealer on ceramic and porcelain tiles where I just wipe off the excess. Thanks for advice / experience.

All - in the process of redoing our bathroom and started the tile work over the weekend for the shower walls.
I intend to trim the end with a Schlutter profile. My original plan was to throw it up when I begin the wall and terminate the tile into as I go through the install.
I have done a good bit of tile over my life, but never had to backbutter and this is slowing my down significantly. My a bit deal. I am a bit of a perfectionist so I would rather take my time and do it right. But I am concerned that I will not be able to finish the entire wall in one day (I tend to have the ability to do ..read more
