Any Input on TileRedi Pans - Walls ?

I have a bath reno coming up. Seems like a newer product -- a few years maybe ? The pan seems viable for tile direct to it as well as the wall panels. Wonder what the material is -- website didn't say that I could see. The underside of the pan is significantly waffled for support which is encouraging. I have an inquiry in to the rep. for info / sample. Last one I did was Schluter pre formed pan and walls. This product eliminates all the banding etc. Any input on this product or other... Anyone use the newest trend Click-Tile? Porcelain tile with click-together under it... Daltile's version is Revotile (which is also Home Depot's QuicTile apparently) and then there's Connexion (although I heard this was also made by Daltile but for Floor & Decor), and is basically the same thing... Held off on click-together stuff when it came out years ago, until it had some time under it... Got mixed feelings about a tile version, but does anyone have any experience with it, pro or con... I’m a general contractor who does 90% of the work myself. A couple years back I was part of a light remodel of a track home in an elderly community. I changed out a window and did a new sill as the new window was the same width but not as tall. A tile company did the tile work. The ceramic wall tile cracked in the lower right corner of the window. Tile guys came and fixed it. Then not too long after it happened again. Now it’s being put on me as the fault... I have a job coming up that involves putting floor tile in and the section of bathroom they want tile put down on the floor has linoleum. I'm hoping they just used perimeter gluing. But, if they glued the entire thing, I'm stumped on how to remove the adhesive. I need to use ditra throughout because the throne room is on a wood sub straight. So. I know I can pull up the 1/4" luann ( unless they glued the throne room onto the subfloor), the rest of the bathroom where the sink, tub, and shower... Glue on concrete ..read more

Hello, contractors- I'm building a "fake" fireplace which will surround my wood burning stove. It's important that recommended clearances to flammable materials are adhered to, so I built the whole structure out of steel studs and Hardi Backer board. After applying mesh and a scratch coat the project will be covered with imitation stone. Description of the structure: 1. 20 gauge steel studs are spaced 16 inches on center 2. Roxul site and sound is used as a fireproofing... I think I'd prefer wood studs to steel for this project! Guidance Needed ..read more

LVT shower walls

As the title suggests. I usually prescribe hardwood or tile for floors and tile for showers. Consequently, I don't have much experience with LVT/LVP, and no experience with LVT on tub/ shower walls. I wouldn't use the stuff if a client asked, wouldn't feel too comfy carrying a warranty. As a landlord, though, considering options. We're in one of our apartments now and had to tear the tub surround down to the frame. Walls are wonky. We don't have the budget or inclination to rebuild... LVT shower walls ..read more

Small shop bathroom with shower and toilet

I've recently built a 1,000 square foot personal workshop in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. Space is hard to come by in my neighborhood and I've done my best to make every inch count - barely squeaking by on the city guidelines for building footprint. The shop includes a small bathroom with a shower and toilet only, measuring 46" wide by 63" deep. The sink sits in the main workshop space to conserve as much square footage as possible. I know having a shower spraying all over a toilet... Small shop bathroom with shower and toilet ..read more

Made this surround for my tile saw today. I got the idea from the internet. I used a washing machine pan and PVC pipe. I tried to make a small footprint so I could use it inside. I have a bunch of tile work to do in a new house. No one is living there yet so it will be nice to take it inside ..read more
