On a rainy day 20 members arrived for the Christmas Melee. Before play started Adrian Aldred was presented with the Melee Shield for 2023. The plan was to hold three timed games, however after the first game and with the rain still coming down it was decided by some to call it a day. 25 members turned up in the Autumn sunshine to remember and play in the Memorial Trophy. The teams were selected randomly and three untimed games were played. Thames Valley Memorial Trophy 3rd Sept 2023 September 2023 Wallingford held the TV Memorial Trophy, the first time in several years due to covid restrictions. Thirty-six players from all over the Thames Valley entered this non licenced event, ten from our own club Wallingford. A five game melee started at 10:00am, three games before lunch and two after. The Triples Trophy took place on Wednesday evening of the 19th July, organised by Steve Gothard and Wendy Harris with Therese on standby to help out should she be needed. On Sunday the 4th of June we held our Open Day for 2023. With a north-easterly moderate breeze temperatures were pleasant in the late spring sunshine. 37 participants from all over the Thames Valley played a five game melee, three in the morning followed by lunch in the sports centre and two in the afternoon. This was the third running of the league since it was introduced in just before the first COVID lockdown.     This year the event was divided into 2 divisions to ensure it was completed in a timely fashion during the holiday season.
