Dear all members Just a little reminder that the Inter Regional championship will be held at Pakefield next Friday, Saturday and Sunday and 11 of us will be taking part, this means that Malcolm will not be here for the Friday 16th morning training session, following that weekend he and Gill will be away on holiday for a few days so will not be around for the Monday 19th and Wednesday 21st. Congratulations to the 10 ladies who played in the International Women's Day Doubles Final on Saturday in the scorching  heat at Whitnash Windmill Pétanque Club.  Two teams made it into the Gold group with Jan Weaver and Jacquii Anderson winning the Gold Consolage. Gay Evans and Lesley McCallum had a very close match against the final runners up. It was an absolutely brilliant day - long and hot but so enjoyable. The pistes were completely different to ours - they were stony so we had to adapt our play. The morning play was a Round Robin so depending on how well we did in that in the afternoon we would be graded into Gold, Silver or Bronze groups. Our first game was against Hassi Leverett and her partner Karen. Hassi was the favourite and Chairman of Pétanque England so the whole of the match was filmed and live streamed. Thank you Just a quick thank to all the 53 members that came out for the July fish & chip night, we all had a fun filled time and also managed to raise £201 for McMillan nurses so thank you all for the support. We also had four people playing who were on vacation in the UK over from Ireland who had never played before, they had fun and soon got the hang of playing, especially Ann.
