One of my favorite things to do is to take my kayak or canoe out. Usually I have one of the younger kids with me which makes it a little challenging to transport from the parking lot to the water. The solution is to have a set of wheels that makes it possible for one person to lift up one end and roll it to the water. This build took only an hour to put together.

A Trip Plan not only prepares you for the challenges of the hike, camping trip, backpacking trip, or canoe trip; it also protects you. Always give your trip plan to at least two other adults who are not attending the activity. Simply make a copy or snap a picture and send it to their phone. Doing this informs them where you plan to go, when you will return, who is going, why you are going, and what you are taking.
