Are Projectors for Sewing?

They can be! I had the pleasure of testing out the Vankyo Leisure 470 Projector, and I’d like to tell you all about it. This is a sponsored review, so I will keep it real cause that’s what we do on this channel. My first thought about using a projector is that I would only use it on small sewing projects. I would not use it to sew full garments. The idea is to use the projector to mirror the PDF pattern onto the fabric. This would eliminate the need to cut out pattern pieces and pin them to the fabric for cutting. The machine is sleek with all the accessories, including cord ..read more

Mori wearing a DIY denim top and Ankara maxi skirt Hello Peeps! I wanted to share this look that I created and put together for the magazine. For this look, I created 3 pieces, a Jean-inspired front tie top, a chevron maxi skirt made with Ankara prints, and a stunning necklace to top off the look. If you are my age you're probably looking at this top on Mori and saying, I can't wear that......well me either!! But the takeaway from this look is that you can apply the hack to any shirt pattern.  I  am sharing the tutorials used to create each piece, but I am breaking t ..read more

My #1 Shopping Bag: A DIY Tote
That Black Chic

I love this new shopping tote! Let me tell you how this new tote came to be. My local fabric store decided that they were going green, which meant that they were no longer using plastic bags. They started selling shopping bags and large paper bags to those of us that didn't bring our own bags and didn't want to carry the fabric in our hands.  Now I don't go to this store that often but I have gone there 2 other times and each time I had forgotten to bring my own bags. Well after this last time I said I need to get a tote to keep in my car, just for my random trips to this store. I sea ..read more

This project is quick and easy and it's a great group project for you and the kiddos or a little wine with you and the girls and your old jeans. I am not including any exact measurements because this depends on the size of the jeans you use. Jean front Press the jeans and ..read more

Mori in her DIY Tuxedo shirt I made this tutorial a while back for another blog and thought I'd share it on my platform. I don't know about you but sometimes I like to mix it up a little. I like it when you put something fancy with something casual. You know like sequins and converse or in this case a tuxedo shirt and jeans. I decided to update a regular button down shirt and create my take on a tuxedo shirt. Let's do this! I purchased a basic white men’s button up shirt for this project. You could also re-fashion shirts you already own or you may be able to find a few shirts at yo ..read more
