Ultra races have a habit of sneaking up on us and preparing for a Spartan Ultra with 50kms (or more like 54kms…) and 70 + obstacles are no joke. With the Spartan Ultra in Wales now only 5 months away, if you’re hoping to take part it’s time to start focusing on your training plan! Last year we had 8 athletes who toed the start line for the Spartan Ultra in Scotland and we had 8 athletes finish strong, with 2 top 5 elite finishes.
So as we start preparing for the 2022 race season, we thought we’d share the training journey of one of our Ultra athletes, Lisa. Lisa reached out to us last year lo ..read more

With Christmas around the corner as a great excuse to buy some fun fitness stuff, we thought we’d share some of our favourite items across a range of categories! We could have gone on forever with this one but we’ve kept it to a few of our favourite items! Feel free to add some of your own in the comments!
GYM EQUIPMENT
Big Budget - Concept 2 Bike.
We recently got a Concept 2 bike and it’s the best bit of kit that we own. We also have an airbike and find this one so much more useful for a range of workouts. Set the dampener to a low setting and you can easily pedal and work (I bought a cheap ..read more

My Top 5 Fave Vegan Recipes!
I’ve been vegan for about 5-6 years now and to begin with legit ate beans on toast for most dinner’s because I had no idea where to start!
After much experimenting on what works best for me, a predominantly whole food plant based diet is what I find gives me the most energy and feel my best. Contrary to popular belief, you can get all your protein needs met by eating this way. It also keeps things really simple, no-one wants to come home from work and spend 2 hours cooking with ingredients no-one has ever heard of!
That being said, it's super impo ..read more

THE OCR 8 IS BACK!
Back in March, we ran a competition focused on the 8 key areas of OCR. It was our most popular competition yet and we’ve had a lot of people asking for us to bring it back. The world is still unusual and with lots of countries still in lockdown or with gyms closed, we wanted to bring some fun and motivation to train while still focusing on the key areas for OCR. So, whatever your situation, it’s time for The OCR 8 2.0.
The format remains the same, 8 key areas, 8 workouts and 4 weeks to achieve them all. You will have from Monday 28th June to Monday the 26th of July to compl ..read more

Being based in the UK now, me and Sean had been working towards the date of June 18th for our first OCR in more than a year. But, as with everything at the moment, things are ever-changing and as the race was based in Wales the difference in restrictions saw the race being pushed back to October - cue disappointment and frustration.
So it was time to look for a new challenge! We are lucky in the UK because the trail and running races are still going ahead but as we’re still training for OCR, it’s been tricky training for one thing to just jump into a different race that you haven’t been prepa ..read more

Who Is Georgia?
We first connected with Georgia (@coastpathdirtbag) when she joined in with our latest competition and we were instantly drawn to her positive outlook and love for running (plus the views she gets from living on the South Coast of the UK).
Georgia’s message is one that we’re sure will resonate with lots of you and this blog highlights the importance of loving your body and prioritising your training and mindset - not what you see in the mirror.
It’s a normal morning, double teaspoon coffee with a big slap of oat milk, oats cooked in water with a banana and a hearty dollop of ..read more
