(CNN) — Major retailers in California are now required to have gender-neutral toy aisles under a new state law. Hotel employee shot and killed at Port of the Islands Resort in Collier County

Two people are dead, including one victim and a suspect, after a shooting at a Collier County hotel on New Year’s Eve. According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly shooting happened at the Port of the Islands Resort hotel on Sunday afternoon. Detectives say the suspect, a former employee of the 25000 Tamiami Trail East hotel, entered the lobby at 3:25 p.m. and shot a hotel employee. The employee died of their injuries. 6 people hospitalized after boat flips in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — An investigation is underway following a boating accident in the El Jobean area of Charlotte County. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the vessel involved was carrying seven passengers. Six of the passengers were taken to a local medical facility for evaluation. FWC is working with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office to investigate what caused the incident. Did you know manatees travel inland from the Gulf of Mexico to find warmer waters this time of year? One of those places that is popular among the sea cows, is Manatee Park. Manatee Park is along a canal connected to the Florida Power and Light power plant east of Fort Myers.
