Well, folks. It's a wrap. After starting the ski season at the beginning of April, I am now spending my first week in Bumpass without ski school running. We pushed it to a record-late close this fall, with warm weather blessing us into the second week of November, and eager (or addicted) skiers continuing to push it right to the end. April has come and gone already? What?! It has been an amazing kickoff to the season here in Bumpass, good weather and good people have made this our best start yet. Thank you to all that have come out. We've already had two people learn to slalom, including, Nikole, in the chilly water on opening weekend. There's nothing quite like the dawn of a new ski season and the light is creeping over the horizon on this one! In fact, I went skiing right here in Bumpass yesterday and it was delightful! It was a trick set, which, like the global renewed interest in trick skiing is entirely Joel Poland's fault. If you aren't following @joelpoland on Instagram you are missing out. The sun is starting to rise on a new ski season! It's going to hit 70 degrees today and I've received the first bookings through the website and two reservations for the lakeside Cabin. I just got my first taste (and soreness) of skiing in Florida, and our favorite past time is fully on my Radar. Despite the weather's complete nosedive, the skiers could not be stopped! The kids (all in costume) braved the morning air and showed everybody else that it's "Game On!" He's back! The season is picking up momentum and Mike (The Kuz) Kusiak is arriving in Bumpass right on time! I keep hearing what a great time folks had skiing with Kuz last fall and the calendar is already getting populated with returning skiers.
