God revealed Himself to the whole Nation of Israel?

How come the Jews insist on God revealing Himself to the whole nation of Israel at Mount Sinai? To my shame, I have to admit I have not read the 5 Moses books myself, I just internalized the stories from hearing them as a kid. So when I once read about the Jews believing God revealed Himself to them at Mount Sinai through f.e. voice, I thought that I was just missing this piece of information. For years afterwards I Held this viewpoint: "the Jews believe in the God of the Torah bc He revealed Himself to the whole nation at Mount Sinai!" An article explaining this really well is the "Did God s ..read more

Bedtime can be a special time for parents and children to bond and reflect on the day. It's a moment to unwind, find comfort, and seek peace before drifting off to sleep. One way to enrich this nightly routine is through the practice of saying bedtime prayers. These prayers can instill values, provide comfort, and create lasting memories. https://thecatholic.online/bedtime-prayers-for-children-a-guide-to-ending-the-day-with-peace-and-gratitude/ submitted by /u/NischithMartis [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I was watching a video and heard this description of Gabriel. “Gabriel is described as the guardian angel of Israel, defending this people against the angels of the other nations.” I looked it up and also saw this on Wikipedia. Where does it say this or elude to this? submitted by /u/PiggyJoeSon [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Why do people say “I’m not religious, I’m just Christian”?

This seems to be a wholly unbiblical idea. The main argument is “Well Jesus never said I needed this in church, he just said I should follow him.” Ok, but the Pauline epistles are all about traditions and dogma in church. Furthermore, James 1:27 encourages Christians to follow religion. This is a popular claim, but it doesn’t seem to be Biblical. submitted by /u/Theblessedmother [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question does anyone know where to buy these books or get the PDF for them? Jasher, Nathan the Prophet, Gad the Seer, Shemiah the prophet and iddo the seer? If you know where to get these books to read I would greatly appreciate it. ‭2 Chronicles 12:15 KJV‬ [15] Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. ‭1 Chronicles 29:29 KJV‬ [29] Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the ..read more

Waking up to this BEAUTIFUL world God has blessed us with, I am thankful! Thank you God for allowing me to lay eyes on my little guy. I hope and pray that people have a good day today. I know there are so many people divided, and for those I pray. I pray that we can stop hurting one another...we can! Thank you for loving me God. It's so easy to get wrapped up in everything... People are so busy and it can be easy to forget to take the time out to be thankful. However I cannot just help but to feel this way and you want to say it out loud and not just say it out loud but to write it as well be ..read more

How do you see Mark’s Gospel focusing on the theme of suffering discipleship? I've seen it described as a ‘passion narrative with an extended introduction’, suggesting that its focus is on the theme of suffering. Thoughts? submitted by /u/Flimsy_Log2249 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

“Why did we ever come up out of Egypt?” ’ (Num. 11:18-20; 31-34)

When you become preoccupied with something until it affects your perspective on everything else, you have moved from desire to lust. The Israelites demanded things inspired by lust and forgot about their sufferings in Egypt. They questioned God’s decision to deliver them. So, God gave them up to their lusts till it become loathsome to them. Like the children of Isreal, anyone who despised God’s instructions is given up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done, which invite distress in form death and other grave consequences. Esau caved in to his lust and sold his birthright to Jacob ..read more
